Science Education Program The Secondary
Science Education Program is a graduate program (MAED) leading
to licensure in middle and secondary science (biology, chemistry,
earth science, or physics, grades 6-12). This program is offered
both in Blacksburg and the Northern
Virginia Center.
Elementary Education Program
The Elementary
Education Program is a graduate program (MAED) leading to teaching
licensure in grades PK-6. As part of the licensure requirements,
students complete an elementary science methods course.
Doctoral Program
Doctoral programs (Ed. D. or
PhD.) in Curriculum and Instruction are offered specializing in
the preparations of science teachers educators. Requirements for
these programs are master degree in related field, strong science
background, and a minimum of three years K-12 teaching experience
