Justifications for War:A frequently asked question: Why is the US threatening war against Iraq?Answer:A trick question with multiple choice answers: depends on which news source, which day, which administration you ask. The media reports numerous, often conflicting, motives for the conflict in Iraq. Many of the justifications debated in 2003 are the same as those in 1991: Oil? Nuclear weapons? Regime Change? Evil Dictator? 2003 has some distinguishing new "rationales:" Finishing Daddy's Business; Hussein might be tied to Al-Queda. |
